The law was not given to condemn man but to reveal the nature of sin and the need for a Redeemer. As prophetic ministers, you must discern that God used the law as a mirror—to show humanity its limitations and the depth of divine holiness. Without the law, sin would remain undefined, and the awareness of grace would have no foundation.
The prophets under the Old Covenant functioned as voices of correction, direction, and preparation. They were custodians of divine truth, ensuring that the people understood God’s standards. But their messages often carried an ache, because they spoke of righteousness that men could not fully attain through the law alone. This is why even the greatest of them longed for the day of Christ’s manifestation.
Today, you are a prophetic voice under a different covenant—one that brings freedom through revelation and not fear through regulation. The law revealed God’s will externally, but grace writes His will internally. Your prophetic function must help believers transition from performance to relationship, from works to faith.
Your role is to interpret the heart of God in the light of Christ’s finished work. Don’t prophesy from a place of legal demand but from the abundance of grace. When you understand the purpose of the law, you can unveil the beauty of redemption more effectively.
