Before God releases prophets, He prepares them. This process often includes hidden seasons, trials, and pruning. Training is God’s way of shaping vessels that can carry His glory without breaking.
Moses spent years in the wilderness before confronting Pharaoh. David was anointed as king but trained in caves before ascending the throne. Prophetic calling follows the same principle.
Preparation deals with pride, impatience, and immaturity. Without training, a prophet may misrepresent God. With it, they emerge refined, patient, and accurate.
The training season is not punishment; it is God’s investment.
Scripture: “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:4 KJV)
Self-assessment:
Am I willing to stay hidden until God says I am ready?
Do I see trials as training or as punishment?
Am I allowing God to refine my character along with my gift?
