The weight of prophetic ministry requires deep character. Gifting without character leads to destruction. Purity, humility, and integrity are non-negotiable traits of anyone who speaks for God.
Prophets are entrusted with divine secrets. Without integrity, they can twist God’s words for personal gain. Without humility, they can become proud of their accuracy instead of giving glory to God.
A true prophet understands that the vessel is never greater than the treasure. They live in submission to Christ and accountable relationships with others.
Character ensures that the prophetic remains a channel of life, not manipulation.
Scripture: “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:20 KJV)
Self-assessment:
Am I cultivating the fruit of the Spirit as much as I pursue spiritual gifts?
Do people trust my words because of my integrity or just my boldness?
When praised for accuracy, do I point back to Christ or to myself?
